The older we get the more experiences we go through that teach us how to cope day to day living and the problems that arise from life so we can hopefully transfer that knowledge to our children in hopes that it may ease their pain in times of crisis. About 1 1/2 yrs ago we had to put our beloved Zeus(yellow Lab) to sleep at 11 yrs old. It almost killed our family although I`d been thru it with 4 dogs before him.........my son(24) came home 3 days after Zeus`s passing and announced this is a family and a house that needs a dog and we agreed....this was going to be my son`s first pet of his own. He did all the leg work, bought all the pup`s needs etc etc and is raising a great family dog........last week we discovered a lump on the dog`s front elbow. It`s Osteosarcoma a deadly bone cancer that will take out 1 1/2 year old Sawyer`s life in about 3 mnths max...The toughest part is watching him now play and run etc etc knowing we haven`t long to enjoy him. We opted against doing the inevitable now because all of his actions are of a normal and healthy dog..........Recently, as a few of you know, I`ve buried friends and family more than my allotment I`m sure......but this is by far one of the hardest things I`ve ever had to do. We are heartbroken.......Thanx for listening.
