I'm with benney on that, you should be able to disable the wireless capabailities of that router provided then just buy yourself a dlink or whatever tyoe you want and use that 1 for the wireless

This can be done, cause that is the way I have it setup on my DL-T4 (Dlink plugged into ISP provided router) wireless with a Vonets adaptor.

The original poster here, will have to disable the wireless capabilities of the ip provided wifi modem first though. Before he hooks up his new router. You can do a search on how to do that by typing the make and model of the unit into google. Usually the settings address of the modem is 192.168.0.1 that would bring you to the log in page of your modem. Then search around for the wireless settings and disable. After that is done hook up your new router, set it up add all your other devices to it and go

You can pick up an APK of your VPN client, if they have one, and install it on your T6 using the Appinstaller. once that is install, you can use that to connect to the internet before you run your your emulator. I have that setup and it works fine. Its an inconvenient having to run that first before your emulator but works well.
