We've covered a lot of Galaxy Note 7 explosions since the launch of Samsung's flagship phablet — ranging from incinerated vehicles to damaged hotel rooms.

It was only a matter of time before this expanded into human damage, with one man now alleging the device combusted in his pants and left severe burns on his right leg.
Not cool, right?
Well, the Note 7's latest victim agrees, and has launched what appears to be the first lawsuit against the company over the device. It was filed one day after Samsung recalled about 1 million Note 7s sold in the United States, with the UK also following suit yesterday.




Samsung has received 92 reports of batteries overheating in the United States, including 26 reports of burns and 55 reports of property damage.
That includes this incident, in which Jonathan Strobel was shopping when the phone allegedly burned directly through his pants. He also indicated the explosion severely burned his left thumb after he tried to remove the phone from his pants.

The lawsuit seeks unspecified damages for medical bills, lost wages, pain and suffering, and other alleged injuries.
Samsung, meanwhile, noted to Reuters it won't comment on any litigation matters, while also urging Note 7 users to power down their devices and take part in the exchange programme as soon as possible.
