    Default changing bev channel # for jynx hd v 30

    Does anybody know if there is a way too get rid of the 2 for all all bev channels. Example channel 2200 and just make it channel 200. Thanks for any help.

    Go into the channel list and change the service ID?--at least see if the channel number and SID are the same? You should try to get a "clean" udf file and that means clear out all the channels and do a single scan of the satellites (if you scan a satellite more than once it leaves both scans in the udf space with only the pointers to the currently used channels showing you what are the ones you need to edit). There are no checksums to worry about in the udf file, but you guys haven't built a script.ini to let you use the ALI editor with your udf files, so you have to use other means to get data out and edit things--I use simple python code to do such things like parse the info into something readable and show the unicode names, PID , SID....

    I don't see any Canadian satellite udf examples in the files section.--edit--Found the 237 file udf that has 82 and 91.

    And I don't know if the SID would be the entry to change--that might be an issue with IKS.

    Here is an old thread on the topic:

    Id be carefully editing the UDF file on jynxbox. You may just brick your box. I believe that is why the editor was removed.

    The editor was removed because the script.ini was not really right for the way the data is stored in the files.

    Here is a look at what I see in the prog part of the 237 file:
    TLC Canada (ch#14 TP#1 SAT#30)

    0E 04 E0 01 35 70 C4 8E D8 09 02 20-00 00 00 00 00 20 40 68 00 00 E9 30 00 FE FF FF-07 01 13 1B 00 00 00 14 00 54 00 4C 00 43 00 20-00 43 00 61 00 6E 00 61 00 64 00 61 00
    0x209 == 521 decimal (0x30e9 == 12521)
    TLC HD (ch#3 TP#20 SAT#24):
    03 50 80 01 3B 70 44 8C-88 3A 03 20 80 00 00 00 00 20 40 68 00 00 1A 32-00 FE FF FF 07 01 14 31 00 00 00 1A 00 54 00 4C-00 43 00 20 00 43 00 61 00 6E 00 61 00 64 00 61-00 20 00 48 00 44 00
    0x33a == 826 decimal 0x321a == 12826 decimal

    DN: TLC (ch#9 TP#13 SAT#51) and TLC (HD)(ch#36 TP#27 SAT#58)

    09 34 30 03 27 B0-48 16 C9 B7 00 21 00 00 00 00 00 20 40 68 00 00-B7 00 00 FE FF FF 07 01 23 19 23 4C 00 06 00 54-00 4C 00 43 00

    0xb7 == 183 decimal seen in two places in above
    0x2510 == 9488 decimal in two places

    You can see that for the 82/91 sat channels they add 12000 to the SID and store it in the second set of bytes that must be a displayed ch number. For 110/119/127 the two locations have the same values.

    I suspect the scan of the 82/91 sats were done with a re-numbering option selected in the menu, but one could go into the udf file and copy the 1st SID into the 2nd location (if scanning the other sats you might want to remap the DN SID to 12000 locations to prevent duplicate numbering). It can be done in python code, but C might be easier.

    I'm attaching the python code I used to extract data from that 237 udf file and the extracted data--channel data, TP data and Sat data. There are, I am sure, errors, and I've ignored lots of the bits, but the basic info seems realistic and should give you a start on figuring out the way to read the info in the udf files in the jynx box format. I print out most of the bytes in the entry and then the code does it's best to figure out parts of it. Name strings, PIDs, SID, displayed ch number, HD vs SD vs radio (I'm sure that could be done better), whether Dolby audio or no in the case of channel data. TP data has associated satellite number and freq/ SR and maybe figures H/V out. Sat data I only bothered with sat number and name string.

    Oh, I just run the python code from command line on an old PC and pipe the output to a file to capture it:
    python rd_udf_p_ch.py >data.txt

    Also think I figured out the bits for mpeg4 vs mpeg2 in the TP lists and which are for Turbo FEC. In sat data I found the position info.
    if (struct.unpack("<b",o[adr1+10:adr1+11])[0]&0x10)==0x10:
    print "Turbo FEC ",
    if (struct.unpack("<b",o[adr1+15:adr1+16])[0])==0:
    print " mpeg2 ",
    else:
    print " mpeg4 ",

    ----------------------------------------------

    print 360-(struct.unpack("<H",o[adr1+5:adr1+7])[0])/10, " degrees, ",
    if (struct.unpack("<B", o[adr1+15:adr1+16])[0])!=0:
    print " switch port = ",struct.unpack("<B", o[adr1+15:adr1+16])[0]/16+1,

    I think the key point was that all you have to do is clear your channel list, and scan the satellites with the number remapping option off.

    The rest is for those folks with an interest in building a channel list editor.
