desktop pc wi-fi fine wired not

Any ideas please why if I hook my pc up to my gateway with an Ethernet cable and try to get on the web the page just buffers for ever before eventually loading (sometimes) but with a wireless adapter plugged into it the internet works just fine? I have ran a test on my Ethernet card and get the message it is working fine

Make sure it's picking up an IP address that is different from the WIFI adapter and the proper DNS server from the router.

Thank you for replying, I am not at all tech savvy, I don't have wireless adapter and Ethernet attached together, I had computer probs so did a clean install of windows 7 from the cd, did all the updates but now when I plug in my Ethernet cord and using Internet Explorer 11 i type in to search bar lets say " sat fix" and hit search, it comes up with a list of hits instantly but when I click on one it buffers for ever and MIGHT finally take me to sat fix website but if I unplug Ethernet cord and install wireless adapter everything works as it should, I called my isp and they are no help they just say your pc is broke replace it

OK we need to check a few things, do you know how to get to the "control panel" on your computer, if so then go to "internet options", then select the tab marked "Security" set everything there to the default levels by clicking on the "Reset all zones to default" button and click the "Apply" tab at the bottom.

Then go to the "Connections" tab and select the "LAN Settings" button, make sure the "Automatically detect settings" is checked then hit the "OK" button and close out, then check to see if your properly connected to the internet..

If not then we will have to go further.
