Sat 81 losing signal

I just recently pulled out my good old T5 as I moved to a location with horrible internet. I've hooked up my T5 and all works well except on sat 82, after 30 seconds or so I lose signal. I've been reading that it could be my power supply so I changed it out as recommended by other members and it still loses signal. The LNB is a DP Plus AK74-BTE.

Any help would be appreciated.

I'm thinking I need a DPP44 switch with power inserter?

Right now i'm connecting directly from the T5 to the LNB.

Might be the DPP lnb. I found Dreamlink has problems with DPP twin or quads.

could be your board too overheating Take the cover off and put a fan on it and see what happens

First off, Fta receivers are not built for provider equipment (DP, DP Plus, LNB'S, Dishes, etc.) they are made for Legacy setups
13/18 volt switching, when you try to run the Provider equipment, the receiver doesn't have enough power to supply what is needed
that's why all the issues/problems everyone is having (over heating, power supply, board, signal loss, etc.) too run them properly it needs external power.

Sorry Auggie I hate to disagree....

The DP plus LNB is a dual satellite LNB, it should only need 250 to 300 mA of DC current from the receiver, most FTA recivers can hanlde these two satellite LNB's, also check your coax, it needs to be rated to 2.5 to 3 GHz or you will be missing a ton of stuff.

The DP type LNB's use band stacking to get all the transponders and satellites down one coax, the receiver needs to be setup correctly for these type of LNB's, there are several different settings depending on the receiver, one is OCS-DP, the other is Dish.

The only time you would need the DP power inserter would be with the Dish 1000 type LNB, or a multi LNB setup (3 or more) for 2 or more receivers, or using a 4x4 switch like the DPP44, then the DC current spec's are out of range for most FTA receivers.

OK, thanks for the update Terryl, all I can say from my own experience, my setup being all "Legacy"
that I haven't had any of the problems others are having, with DP, DP plus, DP44, Dish 1000 etc.
It just seems to be a common issue (not enough power, over heating, switching prob. etc.)

So I put a laptop cooling fan on the T5 and that fixed the problem. I ended up ordering a power inserter and will also try this tomorrow as well.
