Need your help gurus...

Have dish Plus with 1 DP lnb for 110 and another (oval one) for 118.7/119, hence I have 3 lnb ports, so I'm using a DP34 going into 2 fta boxes and everything seems to be working fine! FYI...I have tried using DPP44 w/ power inserter but it would NOT work, so since I only needed 3 sats I've decided to use the DP34 instead, which does not need a power inserter and as I said is working beautifully.

Now I wanted to add sat 129 to the mix, so I got a DP lnb installed on the current DISH PLUS dish.
so 1st to scan, I took the cable directly to the my hd fta box, BUT the problem is I need to tweak (rotate) the dish a bit in order to get a good S&Q for 129, which compromises some of my 118.7 (international channels) and that's a NO NO for me!!!

So I think (unless you advise otherwise) I would have to setup a separate dish for the 129. If I do so, I would need to try and use the DP44 w/ power inserter and hope it would work!

Can you please advise what's the best way to do this?

Thanks in advc!

The Dish 500 plus setup for 110, 118, 119 does not have the receive beam width for adding 129 to it, it looks at only 2 satellite positions, not 3 as indicated, 118 is at 118.8 just .2 degrees over from 119.

You need a larger oval pan, one like the Dish 1000 plus, it is setup for 110, 118.8, 119 and 129.

How did you mount the LNB for 129, as the LNB for 118/119 has to be in the middle, with the 129 on the left and the 110 on the right, this looking from the back of the dish out at the LNB's, then the skew will remain the same as with the Dish 500, but you will have to re-point the dish, as the center LNB will be the one for 118/119.

When pointing to only 2 satellites the dish is pointing in-between the two satellites, with a 3 satellite setup (not 110/118/119) the dish is pointing right at 119, you then skew the dish for 110 and 129.

But in you case I think you will need a bigger elliptical dish to get all 3.

Also 118 is lower in power then 119, so a bigger dish is needed.

The Dish500+ and the Dish1000+ are the same size 23x30. So getting 129 with a dish500+ is no problem just use the LNB adapter that is included. You will have to readjust the skew and other parameters.

Thanks for taking the time to respond bro...NOTE I'm NOT talking about DISH 500...what I have is DISH PLUS which has the same size as DISH 1K.

You need dish 1000.4 with DPP lnb (3lnb/4 satellites)110 one lnb,118/119 another lnb and 129third lnb, and only with DPP lnb you can use DPP44 switch (DP lnb only with DP34 switch).

Hi wolf, did you take a look at the attached diish picture above?...isn't that the same as dish 1000.4? Dish Plus (not 500) is what I have and it looks like it has the same lnbs you're talking about...my lnbs...will these work with DPP44? Please clarify!

UPDATE: Got it work! all 4 lnbs (well really 3 lnbs as seen in the pic below) have been mounted on one dis DISH PLUS and all 4 sats are working like a charm using DPP44 and power inserter! Cheers!
