what is the best current receiver on the market for motor setup? i want one that picks up sat signal easy, I have nanosats and they have caused issues in this department, looking for a unit really good in this department.

Are we talking true fta here or circular sats for dn and bev?

Your best bet, without hd of course, would be a coolsat 5 or 6k+ or a pansat receiver. Both were outstanding in the day for all aspects of true fta and probably rock on dish moving as well. I have a few lying around- probably pick one up on fleabay real cheap.

I'm using a motech 2100 motor on my dn setup with a limesat max hd. Initially a bit of a pain to set up with a motor but once done it's working flawlessly.

I've always liked the sat screen of the viewsats....have a ultra and maxhd.....running 36" with sg2100 with a dual lnb.......hated the nano2 was a complete mess with signal and quality, cheap unit........the viewsats are quick to respond and reliable on there showings when moving dish...just my 2 cents.....always run my motor in user or installer could never get usuals to work and when it does have to fine tune in with user or installer anyways...running 82,91,110,119,129....
