MANILA, Philippines – Given his political ambitions, Manny Pacquiao is unlikely to stay in boxing up to the age of 39.

His promoter, Bob Arum, said Pacquiao will fight 3 more times following the Timothy Bradley bout on June 9.

After that, Arum said, the Filipino superstar will retire.

"Pacquiao's going to turn what, 34? Manny Pacquiao told me he will only fight Tim Bradley and then three more times after that. I believe Manny on this. He will not be fighting at the age that Juan Manuel [Marquez] is fighting now,” he said in Examiner.

Arum said the boxer’s political ambition plays a big factor in Pacquiao’s retirement plan.

“When he becomes governor of Sarangani Province, Manny will have more daily responsibilities than he does as a congressman now… That executive position will be a lot more work for Manny than what he faces now," said the Top Rank CEO.

Among remaining fights eyed for Pacquiao are the fourth face off against the 39-year-old Marquez and the much awaited super fight against the undefeated Floyd Mayweather Jr.

"Manny will fight again in November and then twice next year,” said Arum. “That's it, end of story.”

You'er right Fib, Arum must go. The worse thing he has done is turned fools into super stars. If it wasn't for Arum, we wouldn't have fools like, the woman beating Mayweather, flapping his big mouth all over my tv, every time he gets s chance.

Arum doesn't make anyone, he makes lots of money from the talent and performance of his gladiator just like the Roman days. The difference is that in the past they where slaves, now only some are submitted to almost that, others brake away to be independent. That's the case with PBF, Cotto and others. Floyd's private life has nothing to do with Bob, can't say the same with Manny's. The evidence is obvious with the above post, Bud.

it's all a big broadway play and we are all part of the show.

these promoters setup fighters with strawmen fighters meant to improve their records, fighters who are past their prime or have no business being in the ring. to boot, they control the refs and judging to assure their investments until they can cash in on that one or two huge payday fights. this is been going on since the gladiators i'm sure of it.

arum is no different than the rest, he's just one of the chosen few running this scam. we watch the fights, we buy into the hype and we will keep watching until we've had enough. i'm getting close to that point with these horrible decisions lately.

arum screwing with pacquiao's legacy and blocking this fight is the ultimate fan rip off. it is time for arum to go.
