During his initial run with the WWE in the early 2000s, Brock Lesnar tore through the roster of the company taking out big names like The Rock, Hulk Hogan and the Undertaker all with his manager, Paul Heyman, by his side on the way to the top.
With the former WWE and UFC Champion returning to the WWE a few weeks ago, the former manager of the “Next Big Thing” might be closer to Lesnar than some people imagined in this bit of news on Sunday morning.
From WrestlingInc.com:
Mark Madden recently said on Chairshots Radio that Paul Heyman has been helping Brock Lesnar with his promos since returning to WWE. However, Heyman has not been re-hired by WWE and as previously reported, there is no plan in place to bring him back.
Even with no plan in place to bring back him to the WWE, it would be a smart move to at least extend an offer to Heyman as he still remains one of the most popular people in professional wrestling after the success of ECW in the 1990s.
The last time we saw Heyman at a WWE event was the December to Dismember pay-per-view in December 2006 that led to a falling out with Vince McMahon over the way he wanted the show to go and the main event Extreme Elimination Chamber match.
If there was a return to the company by Heyman, the WWE could definitely start to bring back some of the older fans that left after the start of the PG era that remember the good times of the “Ruthless Aggression” era in the early parts of the 2000s.
With the former ECW owner helping Lesnar with his promos on television, how much would you like to see Paul Heyman make his way back to the WWE and once again be the manager of Brock Lesnar?
