Floyd Mayweather Jnr has expressed confidence that Barack Obama, the US President, would walk with him to the ring if he were to fight Manny Pacquiao.
Mayweather, whose 'Money' persona has involved him making a string of boastful remarks, does not look likely to fight Pacquiao any time soon, however, after again repeating that he will not hand the Filipino 50% of any pay-per-view revenue.
The unbeaten American reportedly offered his rival a flat $40 million fee, with all the pay-per-view money going in the direction of Mayweather.
"People want to know how much power Floyd Mayweather got," Mayweather said on HBO. "I can guarantee you this: I'll show you how much power I got. If I was to fight Manny Pacquiao, I'll let Barack Obama walk me to the ring holding my belt. Can I make it happen? Absolutely."
Mayweather and Pacquiao spoke on the phone earlier this year in a bid to end the negotiation deadlock, yet no deal was arranged and both face tricky assignments next: Mayweather facing Miguel Cotto on May 5, and Pacquiao taking on Timothy Bradley a month later.
On the talks with Pacquiao, Mayweather said: "I offered him $40 million. He came back and said he want 50/50. If you are not doing Floyd Mayweather numbers in the box office or at the gate, how can you possibly ask for 50/50?"
Folks this story made me laugh. This is how out of touch Mayweather is with his self worth. He's out of his mind.
