help with dd-wrt

I am planning to share network connection with my brother who lives 6 houses away
and I bought Asus router with dd-wrt..I am able to connect to open networks..but how
do I connect to a closed network...I have the password

I have been reading for more than a week, but still cannot find any answers..
I can connect to an open network..I just do.. join..and it connects..
but if the network is wpa protected..still cannot figure out how to connect
..obviously I have password

if your going six houses away. get a second router and use it as a repeater.
