HIBBERT'S CAREER NIGHT SENDS PACERS OVER MAGIC

THE SPORTS NETWORK

Indianapolis, IN (Sports Network) - Roy Hibbert scored a career-high 26 points to go with eight rebounds, and the Indiana Pacers extended Orlando's road woes with a 97-90 win over the Magic at Conseco Fieldhouse.

Hibbert went 10-of-19 from the field to best his previous career-high of 25 for Indiana, which had lost nine of its last 10, including a 43-point defeat to New York on Sunday. Luther Head added 18 points, while Dahntay Jones had 13 points for the Pacers.

"The game prior to this was really, really horrible and bad," Hibbert said. "So we had to come out, set the tone and get the (win). Sometimes it's amazing what the crowd can do for you, and they got us in the game tonight."

Brandon Rush contributed with 12 points, seven rebounds and four steals, and Mike Dunleavy scored 11 points for Indiana, which played without Troy Murphy (ankle), Tyler Hansbrough (ear infection) and Danny Granger (plantar fascia).

Mickael Pietrus and Jameer Nelson led the Magic in scoring with 16 points apiece, as Orlando lost for the fifth time in its last six road games. Dwight Howard got in early foul trouble and registered just 11 points and 15 rebounds before fouling out late in the game.

"I got into foul trouble and couldn't be as aggressive as I wanted to be on either end," Howard said. "I just have to find a way to stay in the game and not get frustrated."

J.J. Redick and Matt Barnes both registered 13 points in defeat.

The Magic trailed by six to start the fourth, but back-to-back threes by Jason Williams and Redick tied the game, 68-68, in the first minute.

The Pacers answered with eight of the game's next 10 points, as a Rush trey put Indiana back in front by six, 76-70, with under 10 minutes left. The margin then became 12, 88-76, on the heels of an 8-0 run that was finished by a Hibbert 21-foot jump shot with five minutes remaining.

Orlando didn't get closer than six down the stretch.

The Pacers scored the final six points of the first quarter to take a 24-19 lead after the opening 12 minutes.

Orlando went ahead, 27-26, early in the second quarter, but Indiana answered with a 13-2 run to go in front by 10 on a Hibbert hook shot with 4 1/2 minutes remaining. At halftime, the Pacers were ahead, 45-39.

The Magic rallied to tie the game late in the third, 60-60, on a pair of Redick free throws, but Indiana finished the period on an 8-2 burst -- capped by a Dunleavy three-pointer -- to take a 68-62 advantage into the fourth quarter.

Game Notes: Orlando's Vince Carter shot just 2-of-15 from the field for six points, a season-low...The Magic still have a 5-3 record in their last eight games and are 11-7 overall on the road this season...The season series is tied, 1-1...Indiana forced 20 turnovers and committed only 13...Orlando has won eight of the last 10 meetings.
