Alright so here is my scenario, I have 3 potential sites in my family that want to give fta+PS a shot. Two locations require 1 dish + 1 satellite receiver install. The third location requires 1 dish and 2 receivers installed. Here's my plan, if someone can kindly tell me if I'm heading in the right direction that would be great. Also I plan on hitting dn 110/119, however I read that there are also 2 other satellites,118 from what I gathered seems to be all foreign channels, however 129 has some channels on it that might be watched, just not sire how to link 3 lnb units togehther so was planning on just the two, so here's what I have.

Seeing how the first two locations just need 1 to 1 hookup, I planned on using sw21 to get the lnb feed to the receiver.

The third location requiring two receivers to use 1 dish I would use dual lnb heads, a powered sw44 switch.

The receivers I plan to use are dreamlink HD

I'm not a switch guru but that sounds just right.

That setup will work provided all Lnbs are legacy. DP lnbs would not work.

I would advise using DishPro equipment for this install, it's really the simplest way to go, and then you can add subscription receivers later as needed.

To get HD programming, you'll need to hit 129 for sure...

For your third location I would personally use a Disecq 8x1 Switch for each receiver if you plan on bringing in more then 4 satellites with each receiver. If you plan on bringing in only 4 satellites then i would recommened using 2 Disecq 4x1 switches.Either Cheita or EMP would be the best bet.
I assume that each LNB you are using has 2 outputs?

Sorry for the lack of response, I am still trying to get a location setup at my place (this being locations #3 on the list) to get DN 110,119 & 129 in, my first location was a deadzone so had zero luck, hoping to reattempt a new location tomorrow. When I bought my receivers I did pick up 2 Cheita's for the 2 single receiver setup locations, however for my location I didnt get anything as I planned on the sw44 however I will scrap the sw44 now that I need to get a 3rd dish in, If I have it right, I would need to pick up two more Chieta's to do my place, then feed 1 line from each dual LNB to each Chieta unit to feel receiver #1 & #2. Hmm makes sense, and eliminates the sw44 which needs a powersupply as mine is lacking one. That alone would cost the price of the Chieta's

I am using dual LNB's yes. not 100% sure on the manufactures as I have quite a few laying around, if it wasnt for that I would go with the DP setups, however I feel it would be a waste not attempting to use the hardware I already have. All being installed on 24"x18" dishes. From what Ive gathered I should be okay with putting the 3 LNB's side by side and this will capture all 3 satellites? Or will 129 need to be spaced out? I have 3 of the same quad brackets with multi install points.

Would the sw44 effect the signal strength & Quality? I am noticing that on my test bell setup with the sw44 that I am lacking channels and some signal strength, I am using a dish that is currently functioning on a subscription Bev account which for that the setup is working 100% fine (its only a 24" Round dish, so thats likely why), however I notice that my Dreamlink installed on that configuration is lacking.... Not that it matters as I am going DN now instead of Bev (no benefit with the Bev and its freezing like no other at peek times, very annoying) just curious really.

1470914710Alright SO I amanged to get 110 in great, 119 is meh decent but not the best, I have had zero luck getting 129 in tho, I have (from looking from behind my dish) 129, 119 110, which 110 is straight in line with the mount bracket that goes to the dis itself, is this setup correct? I attached a couple photos to show my test setup, so far I still haven't been able to get 129 satellite

New situation has come up....

lright, so my brother has a paid bev service, along with a iks dn service. However he now wants to add bev to his iks reciever and keep his dn service active & his paid Bell service active.

His setup:
BEV- Dual lnb feeding into 2 sw21 switches feeding his dual tuner pvr

DN- 110/119 into cheita 4x1 switch feeding his dreamlink box.He wants to somehow get a feed off his bell dish to feed his dreamlink box.

Is there a possible switch setup that can be done? He has 2 of the 4 ports open on his dn switch setup however I'm not sure how we can get the bell feed into the same source line feeding his dreamlink box. Thanks for your help!

Sounds like he has legacy LNB's on the BEV side, he needs the same type LNBs (4 each standard DP dual output, new ones, not the old style legacy) then a DP44 switch at the bev side, that will run the dual PVR from them, the second outputs from the LNB's on the bell side of the setup will then run to the #3 and #4 inputs of his 4x1 switch.

Working with all the same type LNB's will cut down on any possible switching problems.

And the reason your not getting 129 on that setup is that it may be too low on the roof, you need to clear the roof a bit more.

Then on a 3 LNB setup you need to peak it out on the center LNB/satellite (119, that LNB needs to be dead center on the dish LNB arm) then skew the dish for 110 and 129, I also hope that you will mount it down a bit better then the old tire, or fill the old tire with concrete.

I will pass this info onto him, sounds like he needs to do some shopping.

This was an old post haha, I have now secured my dish onto my house and removed that temp steel wheel & tire setup. I get 129 @ my house, my sisters place has a tree in the way (she may get it in the fall) my brothers place he wont get 129 as there is treet and a house in the way, he gets 119 when the wind doesnt blow, and 110 half decent.

Thanks!

Alright, so I just want to check, I need to get 1 quad DP LNB for the Bev setup and then replace the 2 dual LNB's on his DN setup (no 129 on this setup) to DP heads to avoid issues?

Now With the DP 44 switch, this would feed just the PVR unit? Then I get the feed for the 4x1 directly from the quad LNB? From what I gathered it seems tho this would be the case

2 feeds off the quad go into the DP44 switch, the other 2 feeds off of the Quad to the 4x1

I was perhaps thinking about doing this to my setup, to which I have a SW44 feeding a dual tuner PVR along with a standard receiver. Can I do the setup at my place the same way? If what I have stated is correct.

Now my next question is, I thought the DP quad units have switches built in? Thus eliminating the need for a switch? Am I misinformed? Couldnt I just put the quad DP in, take out the sw21 switches and hook his the bev lines directly to the LNB?
