Sheamus and Alberto Del Rio will meet one-on-one in two weeks at the Over the Limit pay-per-view for the World Heavyweight Championship.
Del Rio seems to be back in great shape after being off of the WWE programming with a groin tear he suffered in the December 19 main event of the Monday Night RAW Supershow.
Since Del Rio's injury, both Daniel Bryan and Sheamus have been occupying the belt. Bryan held on to the belt until WrestleMania XXVIII where he lost his title to Sheamus in a record 18 seconds.
Sheamus has been on a great run even before he won the belt. He has been defeating almost everyone that has been thrown his way. He even won the Royal Rumble in January which gave him the chance to face Bryan at WrestleMania.
Del Rio won the Royal Rumble in 2011 and his victory earned him the chance to face Edge for the World Heavyweight Championship. Although he lost, Del Rio eventually won the WWE Championship by defeating CM Punk in the fall.
"The Mexican Aristocrat" was able to earn this chance against Sheamus because of the victory he picked up against him on the April 6 edition of Friday Night SmackDown. Del Rio was given the honor of being the No. 1 contender, and now that Bryan is out of the World Heavyweight Championship picture, it is only right to place Del Rio in.
This matchup between the two biggest names of the new era and the past two Royal Rumble winners should be exciting. Del Rio and Sheamus are both very good in-ring performers and they should not disappoint.
This won't be the best match on the card considering Bryan and Punk are fighting, but it will garner a decent amount of attention and appreciation from those who watch.
Is winning the World Heavyweight Championship Del Rio's destiny or is it just a dream that will never come true? We will know the answer to this question in two weeks at Over the Limit, but based on Sheamus' run as of late, the only destiny Del Rio has may not last longer than 18 seconds.
