Golden Boy Promotions could salvage their loss, perhaps even make a killing, if they decide to take advantage of some fortuitous events.

Peterson and Berto's fall from grace with discovery of positive results in their VADA test leaves Khan and Ortiz without opponents. It would be a boxing fan's delight if they decide to put on a show on June 23. Khan has been calling out Mayweather and Ortiz would very much like to get a 2nd chance to go against Money. Thus, this is a perfect elimination fight.

There are risks, however. While Amir Khan's loss is somewhat tainted - it is also possible that the ruling bodies could reverse the ruling and call back his belt from Peterson - it is still a loss on the books. It is the same with Ortiz. What this means is that someone between the two of them could conceivably suffer a 2nd consecutive defeat. Could the promoters consider that too big a gamble?

Maybe it is time to think of entertaining the boxing public and bring in a fight that would sure to draw substantial viewers.

I would pay to watch that. Wouldn't you?

only problem i see here is the fact that khan is training for a fight at 140 and ortiz is training at 147--if the fight is at 147 that doesnt give khan time to build the muscle properly--plus there is no time to promote--this fight does not happen

Very good point plastik,,,, khan has been saying he wants to move up to fight the money boys.... this would be his chance.
His frame is big, plus broad shoulders,, he could hang some more meat on it easy.
Would pay to see this one...($20) that is.

I knew you were cheap....ok......frugal.....but did not know you that THAT frugal! :)

Amir Khan can gain weight and still be in perfect shape for a fight. With proper resistance training exercises and a carefully designed caloric intake, he could build muscles which would add to his weight for a welterweight bout against Ortiz. As a result, he would be much stronger than he already is and could give Ortiz a run for his money.

Ortiz is a big man... Kahn is too small.. But he is a good fighter As Rok says it would most likely have to be @ 147lbs.. Lets see what happens after both their fights.....I think....

We know who will fight Ortiz, no need to speculate anymore. If this fight ever take place Ortiz will win by KO in the later rounds.

It goes to show why boxing is in disarray. Instead of doing something for boxing that would have somewhat erased negative press, they elected to "protect" their stableman from a risk of two losses. By putting a 140 pounder UNKNOWN, Joselito Lopez, they have given Ortiz a gift. Lopez, in spite of his talent, could not sneak by Jessie Vargas in the Mayweather-Ortiz undercard.

What chance does he have against Ortiz? Pretty ridiculous!
