i just bought a new lnb dpp 500+ lnb 500 plus lnbf pro plus(dish hd) to get 119 118 110 also i added the bracket with the 129 bird running a cable from 129 to the lnb in. also i have another dish with 97w universal lnb going to the on side of 22khz switch and i have the 2 outs cables from my 500+lnb to the off side of the switch and to 2 receivers limesat hd air and viewsat ultra with fxta now when both receivers are turned on everything is working fine and i get all channels from these 5 birds but once i turn one of them off i lose all signal (speciallly with the ls hd air the signal only lasts for about 20 seconds or less but with vs it lasts for about an hour) now since this lnb has an intrnal switch i thought i didn't need any power inserter? do i got to have a one? and if i do how do i connect it? and is there any other way to make this work without the power inserter or having both receivers on? thank you for any suggestions or help.

Well your running 4 LNB's off one receiver (two receivers will not supply more power) so you may be above the designed DC current output rating of that receiver, (most are 500 mA) the receiver with the highest DC voltage is the one running the LNB's, you may be overloading it.

1 LNB = 100 to 200 mA (milli Amps) of DC current, this depends on who made it, most run at the 150 mA range, so 4 x 150 = 600 mA, so you can see what may be the problem.

A test would be to disconnect the external LNB for 129 (power down the receiver with the switch in back first) and see if your up time is longer, if it is then you need the DC power inserter to run your system right.

When you switch over to the 97 bird dose everything work OK? For an extended period of time?

Oh, I also deleted your other post in a different thread on the same subject, one post on one subject in one thread please, don't go all over the forum posting the same problem, it gets very confusing when you do so.

thank u for reply and srry for posting same subject on a different threads i guess since this post involves lnbs and switchs it made me decide to post it on both threads, anyway back to my question how to use the DC power inserter? and what kind or brand? i have dp44 power inserter can i use it? if so how to connect it, since it is supposed to be connected to a dpp44 Multi-Dish Switch. and switching to 97 bird doesn't make any difference, and how come if having 2 receivers on don't make a diff it works fine only when thy're both turned on?
thank u again for taking the time to answer me

One of the receivers has a higher DC output then the other, it is running the system (for a time) that is why it's working.

On the DP 44 power inserter, you can run it directly to the #1 receiver output port on the LNB, it will supply all needed DC power to run the system, the other receiver output can run your receiver.

If you need to add more receivers, then you need the DPP44 switch, you can run the 4 LNB's off that switch, (switch LNB inputs would be, 119= port #1, 110= port #2, 129= port #3 and 118 = port #4.

The LNB for 97 has to go after the receiver outputs on the switch, this is done with the 22 kHZ switch like your doing now.

If your using an LNB for 97 with 2 outputs then you can use 2- 22 kHZ switches, one on each receiver output.
