ok guys i'm goin nuts on this problem.
my buddy has a dish set up with 110 and 119 signal is 95 % on the 110 and holds on 95% doesn't move at all. now the problem i'm having is the 119 signal strength goes from 95% on some transponders to a little lower on some tps. now the signal on the 119 will go from 95% down to 20 % or 80% down to the same 20% and lose signal and no channel. now i've tried everything. i've asked this a week or so ago and have tried looking into it again with another receiver thinking it was the box but its doing it on the other one too. now there are trees but i find it hard to believe the signal would be rock solid on the 110 and not bounce to bouncing that much on the 119. do you guys think it would jump around that much being so close together with one not moving at all and one bouncing so much.
i have trees in my area and i have no problems like that.
thanks

If the trees are between you and the satellite(s), yes they can and will cause strange signal problems. Nine degrees can be a sizable difference in spacing for a blocked signal. So yes, you could get a great signal on one and jumping on another. Then again the dish might not be ideally lined up.

so you really think it would jump that much on one and not the other ?

Yes its a huge difference 9 degrees makes....you can check out a app that goes on phones to see the difference between sats and where your looking check out here and watch video...
http://www.dishpointer.com/2009/augmented-reality-satellite-finder/
then if you can find the app free put it on your phone and hold it up near dish and that will help you....just a fyi i tried the app and is great for finding things that are in the way of your signal and sats but was useless to me for fine tuning my dish and motor thats a hands on tweeking hair pulling etc. job...LOL .....

mine the same i changed my dish over to my shed and the neighbors tree grew out and alot of leaves and 119 going in and but rock solid on 110. sucks that I can't cut the tree down so i'll have to move the dish to another spot. It's a small tree too.

try putting transponder on 119 to 12297 it might work it gives me better signal.

if you think that the tree is not too tall to cause the problem,i would suggest for you to check your lnb,and your rg6 cable...might have a bad connection.somewhere,

thats what i was thinking maybe the lnb but he has a bell dish right next to it and i swapped lnb and it still did the same. the signal stays the same at around 70 its the quality that bounces so the signal is from lnb to the receiver ( if i'm correct ) and that doesn't bounce. so that tells me the cable is fine ( if i'm correct ) lol

ya but as soon as i change the channel it goes out. the jumping is crazy i could see a couple % up or down but i go from 90 - 95 down to 20 thats why i'm so frustrated i've never seen it jump like that. must be some crazy tree because i have trees in my area.
the same thing more or less happened to my buddy he got a bigger dish problem went away..
