Lost in the shuffle of all the madness involving who might get fired after the match between Big Show and John Cena at No Way Out are the intentions of Vince McMahon.

We know that McMahon is going to be in Cena's corner, at least that is what he said on Raw prior to getting pseudo-punched in the face by Show.

The Chairman of the Board—at least I think that's what McMahon's character is supposed to be, things change so much with no explanation that no one knows—was very quick to try and fire John Laurinaitis on Raw this week.

Almost too quick.

McMahon loves the element of surprise more than anything else. He is going to do whatever he can to surprise the audience on a pay-per-view, even if it completely goes against everything that has been built towards.

With the [spoiler alert] firing stipulation being added to the match for both Laurinaitis and Cena, WWE wants to do something drastic to try and drum up as much late interest in the show to bump the buy rate.

Given that the threat of Cena being fired has been used hundreds of times in the past, I wouldn't count on late business.

Instead, McMahon can do the next best thing—try to drive the ratings up for Raw the next night. The only way to do that would be for him to cost Cena the match with Show, and then the talk will be why McMahon did it and what happens to Cena?

The allure is there for McMahon to do it. I can't say that there would be a good way for them to sell it on Raw, especially if McMahon isn't going to be a regular weekly character, but all that matters to him is a single rating for one show.

If McMahon wants to make his presence felt at No Way Out, and there is no reason to think he won't, don't be surprised if he ends up turning on Cena. It would add an intriguing element to a feud that has largely been a disaster from the start.
