Ask someone whose family member or friend was killed by a DUI driver.

Bet you get a quick reply.

First of all...I`m an advocate that NO ONE should drive anything after a drink...even one.

However.....I`ve always had a huge problem with DUI.....as to exactly what DUI actually is according to the law. The laws on DUI change at will...most often due to the lobby of insurance companies or politically motivated organizations.
Theft is theft, murder is murder etc etc but DUI is different from age to age, years behind the wheel etc....and it`s not a steadfast law...it changes on a whim from province to province.
So as a member who has lost a family member to a DUI driver I`m still agreeing with henric.....that DUI (unless multiple counts which should mean jail time anyway) should NOT be a reason to bar someone from entering our country. Make a law..make some perameters that are steadfast etc and I may change my mind....too many outside lobbies have gotten their hands on DUI laws making them too vague and stylish for me at least. What DUI is today often isn`t what DUI is tomorrow thanks to politicians and insurance lobbies.

Always has been. If you drink don't drive, end of story.

If you do suffer the consequences. Ask for a pardon in 10 years.
