With the dust settling after No Way Out last Sunday, the creative team for the WWE is already planning the matches for the next pay-per-view event in July, WWE Money in the Bank.
At last year’s event, the card was headlined by the classic bout between CM Punk and John Cena for the WWE Championship along with Alberto Del Rio and Daniel Bryan winning their respective MITB ladder matches.
Here are the details from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (via WrestlingInc.com) on the current plans for the World Heavyweight Championship match and the number of Money in the Bank ladder matches at this year’s event.
Alberto Del Rio vs. Sheamus for the World Heavyweight Title will likely take place at the July 15th Money in the Bank pay-per-view. Like last year, there will be two Money in the Bank ladder matches on the card.
Even though Del Rio deserves a title shot after missing his match at No Way Out with a concussion, the best option for the WWE would be to keep Dolph Ziggler in the title hunt instead of relegating to some unimportant storyline with Vicki Guerrero.
While it seems likely that Ziggler won’t be included in the World Heavyweight Championship match, the company should definitely have the former Intercontinental Champion win the Raw Money in the Bank ladder match to continue his push into the main event.
With Del Rio currently getting the nod to challenge Sheamus for the World Heavyweight Championship at Money in the Bank, which superstar would you like to see challenge the current champion at the event if not Del Rio?
