Junk in the trunk, if you only need it for a couple of uses a week then maybe, but I have sent two of those things back, one for an exchange, and the one they sent in exchange back for a full refund, they won't work for a daily job compressor.

Look for a Bosch.

Harbor Freight is good for some things, but power tools are not one of them. I couldn't imagine that thing lasting longer than a year before it craps out on you, and being an oil-less it's going to be very loud.

If you just need something portable for around the house, just pick up a portable air tank and fill it up with your big compressor.

Lowes has the Bosch pancake for 150 clams, you will be happy......Sears tools have changed over the years, and they no longer give you a free exchange on a Craftsman tool if it breaks.

I broke a 5/8", 1/2" drive socket, (4 years old, it split down the side) they said tough, buy a new one.

I am a "regular" there but only for hand tools as I dont trust their power tools... Nor their hand tools but they are lifetime warranty...Another suggestion Ace is buying a used one from CL for example...Plus you can "haggle"...lol.. I have bought a few great tools on there........One being this one haggled down for 150 bux.......I am still patting myself on the back.. Hehehehehe

Upgrade to one of these:

http://www.harborfreight.com/air-tools/air-compressors/2-hp-8-gallon-125-psi-portable-air-compressor-67501.html

I've had one for a number of years with zero problems, BUT, you do indeed get what you pay for.

I purchase power tools from here all the time. If I use it and I like it I will go purchase a decent one somewhere else. If I use it and don't like it, then I'm not out a bunch of money. If I never use it then it looks nice on the shelf in the workshop.

in the last 2 months i have returned two reg screw drivers , one 3/8 drive 5/8 6 pt long socket and two 1/4 rachets . all replaced for free . socket and screw drivers were replaced right of the shelf, rachets were rebuilds.... no questions asked

I use lots of harbor freight tools, the ones I abuse! I've had lots of good luck with their compressors. i get my money's worth and have no hard feelings throwing it away. I have many of their tool going strong for several yrs being used regularly.

Sears is not the same as 20 years ago. They seem to have poor customer service when trying to return or replace tools. Sometimes, you have to demand to see manager. YMMV
