Ok I had a bad Dish Pro 500 Twin LNB and replaced it with another DP 500 Twin lnb from another sat dish. Everything was working great, with excellent signal and quality for about 12 hours and then "No Signal" once again and now this LNB has gone bad. Is there something that can be causing this or do you think this just be coincidence? My setup has been up for years with open sky, no recent storms, nothing out of the ordinary.

check your cables for a cut, nick, hard bend(kink), bad cable ends, bad switch(dish pro, diseqc, 22khz, etc), bad ground, sat box problem(internal short, power supply, etc etc. would check every inch of your cables(they are all rg-6 correct?)and dont miss an inch, then try removing switches and wire straight to the lnb. try a new known good cable from the box to the lnb. strange that it blew out 2 lnbs, sounds to me like a cable or switch issue....

I have no switches, they are all internal on these LNB's. I have a direct wire from my box to my dish.

Ok I am confused for sure. I have checked my coax including my jack from the receiver all the way to the dish. There are no breaks, bends, or bad connections. I have the hi quality coax ends which require a special tool to install. I had checked everything I know to check and still there was no signal. Then this morning I get up and turn on the tv and Bam! I have 72% quality and 99% signal... What is going on here? This setup has been up and running for a year without any problems. There are no trees or ANYTHING blocking my dish, there have been no wind or storms. It is on the top most part of my roof and can see the ENTIRE sky. All bolts are tight even checked those. I am on NFPS port 10810, was there some problem with that port the past couple of days? This doesn't make any sense to me why I would not have ANY signal. The only thing out of the ordinary at the moment where I live is it is very HOT, around 107 to 110 degrees, would that cause me to not have any signal? Thank you in advance for your input, advice, suggestions. I feel like my port/server went down or something because it is coming and going and I have checked every inch of my coax, there are no switches other than what is inside the twin lnb...... just at a loss!

Hum....given what you have done so far, I would guess that neither LNB sets were/are bad but that you had a bad box or just a bad connection to coax on the back of the box. That heat seems to play a role might be a hint that the bad end is where you get lots of heating--at the LNB end if you house stays cooler, but does not rule out coax or box.

i had same the same thing but more in the winter it would work in the day but not at night when it cooled down it would not work came to fact the lnb got moisture in it and freeze at night i am wondering if you are getting moisture in lnb

Ok well to touch on the last three posts, I guess my box could be bad but how often does that occur? As far as connection, I am an electrician and as I stated I have checked every end, every inch, every piece of my coax, that is not the problem.

No wind did not turn it as I have it marked with black marker on pole all the way around and I can tell if it moves any at all. It is in the same place.

Don't think it was moisture because I have changed out 2 LNB's, surely they are not both drawing moisture.

Not trying to be rude and I really appreciate the comments and suggestions and hope you guys keep making them so I can figure this out.

your switch if your using one could be the problem. i've seen them get weak and cause problems but if not then im sure if you change the coax, your problem will go away.

Try taking the lnb inside and connect it to your receiver with a short piece of cable. You should get some sort of reading on signal if there's a good connection between lnb and receiver. You could also look for dc voltage at the end of your cable run, about 13VDC if you're using DP settings on the box.
