I successfully pointed a dish 500 dish using a 1 lnb bracket at 72.7 W. I noticed that when I look at a vertical TP it checks network and it identifies it correctly as 72.7 however, when I use a horizontal TP it just stays "Checking network". I'm using a ILink 9600 HD. Also, I had to manually input TPs using info from Lyngsat. Is one supposed to use a special lnb for 72.7 like the dish 1000.4 lnb?

72.7 uses the same lnb as all others except sat 118.

No special lnb is required for 72.7....you can use a circular lnb with L.O. of 11250 or 10750...either one works

Nope.....118.8 is circular.

No sorry, but 118.8 is a special satellite, it is circularly polarized like 110 and 119 but runs in the low "Ku" band like the linear birds.

Thus you need the special LNB for it.

Sounds like a switch or cabling issue. Last resort, an LNB issue. Try changing ports or straight line to receiver w/o switches.
