In the last several weeks, WWE legends Vader, Sid, Bob Backlund, DDP and Rikishi surprised viewers when they walked down the Raw aisle.

While fans have had their doubts about seeing the aforementioned five at least one more time, the notion was never considered a virtual impossibility.

However, the odds of witnessing The Ultimate Warrior in a WWE ring one last time has always seemed completely out of reach since he left the company in 1996.

For better—but mostly worse—the enigmatic, face-painted superstar has had his share of quarrels with Vince McMahon and the WWE empire.

Just in the last decade, the two sides have been embroiled in a lawsuit over the intellectual property of The Ultimate Warrior brand; and in 2005, WWE released the agenda-driven Self-Destruction of The Ultimate Warrior DVD.

Based on interviews and his YouTube postings, Warrior has prided himself on being a self-reliant individual. He's been content to move on from the wrestling vortex, unlike his peers who find it difficult to avoid getting sucked back in.

That being said, as a nod to his loyal fans, Warrior has begun participating in more and more wrestling conventions, even going so far as to dress up in his familiar garb.

Given the recent report about McMahon overlooking the past to bring back every worthwhile legend for the 1,000th edition of Raw, one would have to think Warrior would be a viable candidate.

Many longtime fans, who would love to hear Warrior's blaring rock anthem again, are keen on the idea as well.

When one fan in particular prompted the tasseled titan about appearing at the 1,000th Raw on Twitter (reported by 411Mania.com), he responded with the following:

I've never done what everyone else thinks. Never. Not once.

Certainly, if The Ultimate Warrior were to appear, it would be on his terms.

The question is, will McMahon, who has more incentive than ever, agree to them?
