Help. seems my seal came apart on my washer and now it leaks all over the place. wondering if any one knows how to fix it. a metal wire loop with a spring in it came out which i will assume is the retention ring for it.

dont know if this will help
Undo the fixing (spring, twisted wire or plastic locking band) which attaches the seal to the outside shell and detach doorseal from outer machine shell. Power off, Remove the machine top, push drum towards the rear of machine and look down to where the doorseal attaches to the drum - you should seen another clamping band. Unscrew this inner drum clamping band and pull the doorseal away. Fitting the new seal is a bit like fitting a bicycle tyre on a new rim but on a bigger scale.Ensure the seal is located correctly and refit both outer and inner clamping devices. Some manufacturers in their wisdom bung the seal beneath a concrete balance weight in the front of the drum.....Jeez. If seal is obstructed by concrete weights the front panel and the concrete weight will have to be removed before seal can be detached.

If the wire came off there is a chance it's stretched and would have to be replaced.

There is no easy way of doing it.
Just have someone there to help..

Then keep the spring part to the bottom. And place the seal is the grove around the front. Which will hold it in place a little.
But once you start to stretch the wire around the seal it will want to come off so you will need someone to hold it in place while you stretch it.

I'll look to see if I can find some pictures to help out.

If you have any questions let me know.
