It is common knowledge that WWE officials are high on superstar Dolph Ziggler.

But F4WOnline has reported that the "Show Off" is set for a run with the WWE Heavyweight Championship, most likely supplanting current champion Sheamus for the belt (h/t Wrestlinginc.com).

It remains to be seen whether or not Ziggler would win the title as a result of cashing in his Money in the Bank briefcase, but seeing that he is not due to be involved in a four-way number one contenders match on the upcoming SmackDown, this would be the most likely scenario.

Indeed, if recent events are anything to go by, Ziggler looks set to enter a feud with Chris Jericho—the two sparring on recent shows.

It would therefore be unlikely that he cashes in his briefcase at the upcoming SummerSlam pay-per-view, rather later in the year, giving Sheamus a longer run with the belt.

The story cites Ziggler's good work ethic and attitude backstage as reason for the intended push.

"Regarding how he is looked at backstage, Ziggler is known for being a good worker and it's said that all of the top babyfaces in WWE want to work with him," the report states.

This should come as no surprise to WWE fans, who can have no hesitation in acknowledging Ziggler's fantastic "selling" ability.

Backstage plans could yet change, as nothing is for certain in the WWE.

But even if Dolph Ziggler becomes the second superstar to cash in the Money in the Bank briefcase and lose, it would appear big things await for him.

Whether or not he can maximise his opportunities remains to be seen.
