My neighbor down the street has a 10' mesh dish, lnb with hood and mover with a little rust on it....Is it worth $200.00......I am looking for one....Had one a long time ago...Looks like a tree grew up in front of it...Must be very old...

Might need a new LNBF (C and Ku band) and linear motor, and a "V" or "G" box to move it with your current FTA receiver, but it may be worth it, see if a #2 wood pencil will pass between the mesh, if it does then it's only good for "C" band.

Paint will fix the rust.(with a little scraping first)

I would make darn sure that the actuator works very good for $200...You can take a car battery to test. The two leads are red & black (or biggest wires) switch the two wires between pos/neg to move the dish right/left

If the actuator has play...Dont pay more then $100.

I've taken down many dishes & have bought my fair share. Some guys will alway try & talk you into the old receivers...Old ribbon cable...etc. Most are too old & antiquated to bring home.

Some receivers are still very good, some are not. Motorola, Uniden, or General Instrument...Those are some desirable kinds...but dont pay too much, they can be trashy models...

I agree that $200 is a bit steep for a dish that probably hasn't been used in a long time. One thing I will say is that with about 700 open c band channels, many of which are hd, setting up a bud is well worth the price. Hopefully the actuator works and you can pick up a vbox at a decent price.

Make him an offer to haul it away for free, you will supply all the labor. (and beer) (44 is young?...Oh wait....I guess it is, I keep forgetting I'm not a spring chicken anymore, more like last century's chicken.)
