If you go 4 accross and 4 down that's 16 squares then the inner 2 come out to 10 and the outer line is a square so I get 27 squares but then again I'm half blind trying to figure this out. Come on chicot, give it up lol.

My basis is that the middle "little" squares impede the squares that they are inside of, since those squares no longer have 4 simple sides...4 down on both sides and 8 tiny squares in the middles ....or is it 4 beers beside me and 8 still in the fridge ? :noidea: lol
