windows 7 icons moving

A short while ago my desktop icons on my windows 7 all moved to one side of the screen.I tried to move them back to only have them move themselves back to the left side again.I checked the view settings for desktop and they seem to be set properly.A setting could have been changed by a virus or something.Does anyone know other settings that could have been changed by it?Has to be a setting that is a little harder to find on the windows.Any help would be appreciated....Thanks for reading...Bart42

Check to make sure that you don't have "show desktop gadgets" check off and see if that helps.

Yea, just right click on the desktop go to view and make sure that align to grid and auto arrange is off.

Locate your icons where you want them right click
on your desktop then hit refresh....

Thanks to all for the great info. that you's have provided.Will start up my desktop and try out the settings.I'm sure my problem will be solved.Will let you's know.....bart42
