I have a alfa usb adapter model awus036nhr and a 20 dbi outdoor grill antenna and a have difficulty to cap at my shop a 500m away. what is the problem?
That question could literally have 100 answers, all depending on how your setup is. You should easily be able to get signal that distance with your setup. Make sure cables are correct and sometimes you need to let those cards cool down cause they overheat and drop packets like crazy.

clear line of sight to target?.
Try disabling encryption "TEMPORARILY" until you have diagnosed the problem.
check the cards status and look at the output power sometimes software defaults to low power.
can you ping the target?

How long and what type of coax are you using to connect to the antenna?
Too long a coax will have more signal loss then the antenna gain can compensate for, the wrong type of coax can also have a detrimental effect.

what antenna is on what? can you swap the router to the grid or vice versa? what flavor of router?
I have used the 036nhr but found better performance with the 036H and a 24db gridor a yagi.
But by putting the router on the grid antenna you will not be as secure until you put decent encryption on it.
For 25 feet length the LMR200 cable should work fine, anything beyond that you should be using better cable. Best reliable cable would be LMR400 N-cable, then put a N to RP-SMA pigtail at the end (dont buy a cable that is pre n to rp-sma). Try to reaim the antenna, especially at 20dbi its very directional and can loose focus easy.
Your distance (500 meters I believe) should be very easy to get reliable signal.

The LMR-200 cable at 25 feet will have 4.25 dB of loss,(16.5 dB per 100 feet) add any adapters and you will add an additional 3 dB to the system loss, it all adds up.
Add up your system gains, then subtract the system losses, this will tell you if it will work right, or your going to be back to square one, and remember this is a two way street, if the signals from the other end can make it down to your router (due to the system loss being too high) you will have problems.
What I do is put the WIFI device inside a water tight box or 3" PVC pipe and mount it as close to the antenna as possible, I use the Alpha USB adapters but put them as close to the antenna as I can.
You can get active USB extension cables and go out to as much as 65 feet. (15 feet per cable)
If you need to go further then they make CAT5 to USB interfaces.
Note: The Alphas are t=not that reliable, they will need resetting every so often, and they do get hot.
See this post on a WIFI project I did last year, http://www.satfix.net/showthread.php?67737-The-big-BUD-WIFI-project
