He had never been better in or out of the ring.
When he comes back, he deserves an immediate push to the top of the WWE.
Though several wrestlers have been productive in their 40s, Mark Henry's career is likely nearing its end. He's been slow to recover from his latest injury, and it only gets more difficult as the years pile on.
If Henry has any fight left in his massive frame, WWE would be lucky to have him go on one more dominant run.
A Variety in Villainy
Especially with the recent addition of CM Punk joining the dark side, WWE boasts a number of young, talented bad guys.
While Dolph Ziggler and Co. are likely bound for greatness, WWE not only needs another big name now, but a different kind of heel.
Apologies to Big Show, but the roster lacks a legitimate monster heel.
Cody Rhodes, Damien Sandow, Antonio Cesaro, Ziggler and Punk are all the kinds of villains who will talk your ear off.
WWE needs them, but a returning Henry brings dominance and destruction back to the dark side.
Brock Lesnar would be perfect for that role, but his part-time status and apparent retirement leaves fans in need of another vicious alpha male. Before he retires, Henry can flourish in that role once more.
A Story That Writes Itself
The World's Strongest Man was clearly not at full strength when Big Show defeated him for his World Heavyweight Championship. This moment could easily be the source material for his next angle.
Henry returns, furious that he lost his title, spouting angrily about being injured in that match against Big Show. Clips of Henry moving gingerly throughout the match back up his point.
"No one can defeat me. Big Show only beat half of Mark Henry," he says.
He could immediately shoot into the World Heavyweight Championship picture, motivation pre-written. Sheamus didn't take the title from him, but Henry still considers it his belt.
The slugfest those men would produce would be a compelling fight.
It also offers a reprieve from the lukewarm Alberto Del Rio vs. Sheamus feud.
The Law of the Jungle
A big push once he's back in action could lead to a great opportunity to put a young talent over.
Henry could dominate a handful of jobbers to the stars before clashing with WWE's elite.

How better to make Ryback look like a serious contender than to knock Henry out of the WWE for good?
