Site official closing sunday Night

I regret to inform everyone that as of the end of sunday, satfix will be shutting its door and going offline. At that time that site will be purged from the server. This is due to the actions of The Wufman and is being done to try and protect our members as best we can.

I'm not a regular from this but many of you know my nick....

With that said its sad that Mabs has to make this difficult decision but you have to realize at this time its the best decision for all involved. Once a member like Wufman has been compromised on a site you all know the next course of action from DN/Nagra and no one wants to see that.

For those wondering "what did Wufman do"....its not so much what he 'did' in that he has now become a security risk thus forcing Mabs to make his decision here. I'm sure you are all familiar by now with Wufmans brush with DN/Nagra and that is why he has become a security risk.

its very sad to see what a snitch can do to peoples lifes ..i have not been a member at this site as long as others but i can say i have met some good people..and i have met people that will never join my site...for anyone using a iks server you should really look into a VPN this will prevent your true ip addy from being logged with the IKS server ...its hard to send a lawsuit leter to a ghost
...in any case those members looking for a new home..make sure the site you join uses a off shore server and host..so the DN and bev can go phuck themselfs ...

I'm sad to see this site go. I'm a visiting admin from the official NFPS forum. This site was a good place to hang around. I don't really come online these days because of studies. I always thought Wufman was a great guy... it must feel awful to be betrayed by your own.

wow, I just joined here to reconnect with my uncle who passed away a couple years back because he really enjoyed this stuff and my aunt gave me all of his toys,
I want to thank everyone that answered my questions and helped me,
I also want to thank everyone for the great welcome I recieved when I joined,
I also want to thank anyone that was friends with my uncle he went by the names of kronic and lespaul (two of his favorite things) because of his poor health these sites and this sat stuff seemed to give him life,

F$@! What horrible news. If it wasn't for this site, I don't think I'd be into this hobby at all. Such a shame.

A big thanks to all that have helped me out here. I'm far from an expert in this field, so I laugh when friends and family call me a nerd for my interest in this stuff. They obviously haven't met some of the elite here on satfix!! :tehe:

Two questions:

1. Is there anyway to save what's on this site locally without having to click on individual links? For example, can I save everything under nfusion hd discussions without clicking on the thousands of threads individually? Probably wishful thinking, I know.

2. Is there another site that someone established on this site can recommend? Like one of the mods or super-posters? There's a few people out there taking advantage of this news and advertising their own websites (not a criticism...I'm sure most would do the same) but I was wondering where we could all meet next!

Sad to see another quality site close the doors but due to the recent situation with Wufman it's definitely the smart play. You can join many sites but there's always one or two that stand out as quality sites that your proud to be a member of. I don't post much anymore on any sites but still drop in from time to time to get info I need or read the latest gossip. With all the great members here some of the threads could get very interesting and hilarious at times. Going to miss dishusers one liners he tells it like it is.

Truly a sad sad day. I've been a member here since inception I believe, joining from another amazing downed site I regularly visited to Talk and a few others dating back to the hu days. I was more active there and since I decided to opt out of the whole IKS thing, not as much here. It seems to me the greed took over in this once selfless community and the new way of having to pay monthly for a subscription seemed to emulate the ones we were against. I would still login to read up on the scene and catch up on the latest, but ultimately I think it was because of the people. I learned plenty from so many over the years and for that I thank you all. I hope to meet up with you all on another site and while I'm feeling nostalgic, hope for a return to the better days but for the latter I won't be holding my breath just onto my hope. Cheers!

Wow I just got home and went to check to make sure my nascar piks were right and then found this out! WTF??? I have to say thanks to all involved in making this site what it was cause to me it was home. I belong to other sites but never go there because it was all here and on top of that great people, Staff and members alike. I always thought Wuff was a decent guy and the support that this site gave him in his time of need and this is how it is repayed? I don't know what happened but I can read between the lines and Wuffman you should be ashamed of yourself that's all I am gonna say on that matter and how you will be able to look yourself in the mirror well that is your problem and yours alone. In my years in FTA I have been a member of several sites most of them are gone, others still around, the number of sites I felt welcomed and enjoyed being at, I can count on the fingers of 1 hand, and this site is amongst them. Sad to see another one go offline but this community will rejoin continue on on a new site and hope to see the familiar nics I have seen for years now.

When FTA talk closed the doors I found satfix and seen a lot of familiar faces. Hard to say and no words can explain it, this was like a second home for a lot of us.
It was a great day when i first found the site, lot of excitement and energy within all members and staff, a great site that became part of the daily life and something that needs to be done on a daily basis is log in and check on what’s going on. You find yourself in here..
Still comes a day when everything falls apart and you cannot find yourself because of that missing part.
It has been a great ride all these years and I’m thankful for all the people that made this happen, but sad on the way everything is ending.
Hopefully we will all get the chance to meet somewhere else which will be our new second home,just won't be like here.

Well, I really don't know where to begin.
The experience, friendship and lesson learnt have been more than I could have imagined.
I have to look at this as simply closing another chapter to hopefully see a new one open up.
Mabs, I have to thank you for the wonderful home you created for each and everyone of us and hopefully that new chapter(home) will become a reality.
I would also like to thank all who have helped me and guide me in my staffing duties and hopefully with a new chapter I will be part of the great staff team once again.
It is sad when something good has to come to an end however there is always a logical reason as to why it does. It may be a sadening and gut wrenching circumstance such as the one in this case but what has to be done must be done for the safety of all.

I guess there really isn't much else to say on the subject other than I wish the best to all and hopefully see you on the flip side somewhere.
In the meantime I think I will hang around until I see that dang DNS server message.

It was a great shock to read the announcement about this site closing. I share the sentiments of hundreds and thousands who have enjoyed the site and benefitted from the exchange of assistance and guidance to help members enjoy this hobby.

There are many very nice people here deserving recognition: MABS, DARLINGKAT, BOLIVIA, RAMON-PR, CHIGARO, TOODR, COBRA, PHONETOOL, RUDEE, FIBROSO, and so many more whose names I would probably recollect after I post this message.

This site covered as many topics of interest as there can be to serve as a center of daily discussions. The moderators, for the most part, were great at doing their work to keep the site FRIENDLY, RESPECTFUL, and most of all - SANE. I think that it is the site many visit before they go to bed or when they wake up (with the wife/gf/bf/etc screaming at them for being neglectful).

In terms of purpose, this site excels. For that matter, hundreds here will be like orphans looking for another place.

We have seen this happen before because many of us were all at the "former site". I am sure we will see each other at a "new site".

goodbye to satfix, its great staff, vip members and all the other mambers. it was a great run for an amazing site. lots of knowledge was passed around this site and ,many friends were made. sad to see it go. for my close friends here, send me a quick pm here before the site shuts down to let me know where to find you all ;)
