I am a bit confused (my usual state) is this box a Sat rec or strictly a media player. Does it work with a Sat rec like apple tv and roku? Thanks

It would be more like an unlocked apple tv, the roku isn't unlock-able to my knowledge, therefore your stuck using their proprietary software so it would be better than the roku.

There is mention of a usb powered over the air tuner available for this unit and Ive read a few discussions on the possibility of the Genpix tuner being compatible.. Nothing has been confirmed on the Skywalker tuner compatibility so far..
