I am having problem with PPV south, PPV's come on for a second then goes off shows serching signal.
all other chanels are fine. done factory reset twice but still same.

yep. it does look like more HD channels are starting to drop off . beav has a great history so they should be getting them back up soon.

I'm in Arizona, most of the regional televised games are west coast teams (not that there's anything wrong with that) my teams of interest are usually playing in the other regions which are available on Game Plan. I'm trying to diagnose a small issue that is not really worth starting a new thread for and hoping a few members here using beaver north could just check and post some findings.

My buddy is getting strange pixilation on bev 625 for a few days, all others seem fine but 625 gets distorted when the picture is in motion. S/Q is as good as all other channels but it happens very noticeably on that channel.

Is this an actual bev issue, old t.v or lnb or......?

I am new to beavertv but have been a with nfps for the last 2 years. I am happy with beaver's locals and others that I don't get with nfps. I do have an issue that I wish someone might help me with.

When I watch beaver channels I always notice stuttering and slight lag in the picture. The best way to notice it is when I watch CNNHD on both servers with scrawling text on the bottom of the page.

On the Nfps side, the scrawling text is very very smooth with no lag whatsoever but on the beaver it is very evident and noticeable. Is there anything that can be done about it? I asked my seller and he doesn't know.

Any help is appreciated.

I am new to beavertv but have been a with nfps for the last 2 years. I am happy with beaver's locals and others that I don't get with nfps. I do have an issue that I wish someone might help me with.

When I watch beaver channels I always notice stuttering and slight lag in the picture. The best way to notice it is when I watch CNNHD on both servers with scrawling text on the bottom of the page.

On the Nfps side, the scrawling text is very very smooth with no lag whatsoever but on the beaver it is very evident and noticeable. Is there anything that can be done about it? I asked my seller and he doesn't know.

Any help is appreciated.
Regardless of where the p$ is coming from, the iks server's job is to feed the control words in real time. The control words then decrypt the satellite's encrypted data into watchable video and sound (after your receiver makes the request). This decryption process works like an on and off light switch. Except each control word is valid for somewhere between 15-20 seconds. Hence, this is why some servers can cause freezing - when a server's response delay exceeds the transition point between the next set of control words. However, even freezing is a on/off situation. Either it's present or it isn't. Sure there are times when "microfreezing" occurs; this is when the delay just misses this control word transition (e.g. less than a second). But there is no intermediate, such as the constant or consistent stuttering, as you've describe. It's unusual that your issue only occurs with Beaver, as you say (especially since I've clocked Beaver as having the best response times). Because in fact, constant stuttering usually means an issue with either: low signal quality or low signal integrity (satellite reception/cable issues), or your receiver's tuner (hardware) is failing to conduct/transmit the satellite's constant flow of data (the "stream") from the satellite dish. However, as mentioned, your issue with stuttering/lag is unusual in the context of being isolated with one server over the other - this would definitely be a first in the iks/fta world. It may help to mention which fta/setup you are using.

you get what you pay for. most of the time its cheap price you get a cheap service.kinda rule of thumb. beaver is one of the best out there. just ask around maybe alittle more but a lot better

May be i have the solution. Probably you have an other provider active with the BeaverTV. When you have some lags, just turn OFF the other provider in the broadcast menu in order to have only 1 provider at a time active. Try it :yes:

I have to switch to beaver server to be able to watch north. Doesn't that turn off nfps server automatically?

some fta's cant tell the difference in provider's and will poll both servers for north and south regardless of the caid's
some can tell the difrence like jynx and limesats

it helps sometimes if your on one the boxes that cant tell the difrence to disable the provider your not currently using

the only times your ip address can be seen by a server owner is when your receiver is connected to the server. the ip is lost about 14 seconds after you turn off your receiver.

I can't speak for the amount of logging any servers do since I don't personally know any of the operators nor do I operate one myself.

I have, in the past, seen how a server is run, it's very easy to disable logging in the configuration file (I think the filename is fslb.conf or something like that)

I have PMd Beav, waiting on an answer. Im using an IRD so most of my issues are related to it resetting itself when you start it up and it trys to connect to a channel hat is not available.

Just a FYI to all beaver peeps you can renew at ANY TIME on your donation as it goes by expiry date not the day of renewal donation....so for example if your expiry if 08/25/2013 ...you can renew or add a mnth today if you like and new expiry would be 09/25/2013 or 30 days etc........there is no need to wait until last minute to renew and can do days/weeks etc before as we all have lives and families and it is the summer now as well.....

I think that when the season is in full swing you will be able to scan 7 NHL channels I believe that's how much there are in HD.

None of the Canucks games will be visible on Sportsnet Pacific. They will always be blacked out. I never missed a Canucks game last year watching the majority of their games on Nhl centre ice on Northern Provider, some on Tsn and some on Cbc.

there are at least 10 NHLCI channels on sat 82w in HD, at least that's what was showing last night after a rescan, only one game was listed which was the Washington/Boston game and it was up with beaver

That's not true. Last year all the Pacific, West and East channels where blacked out if they where shown on Center Ice. I remember the Ottawa games where on Center Ice and blacked out on Sportsnet East.

That's not true. Last year all the Pacific, West and East channels where blacked out if they where shown on Center Ice. I remember the Ottawa games where on Center Ice and blacked out on Sportsnet East.

Remember National Blackout Rules still apply with Beaver ..

Meaning if game is on National Network CBC..TSN..Sportsnet...game will not appear on Center Ice...

You should also make sure that no one is stealing your internet. Even though you have a password, they can still hack into your router. I seen it happen to me and I made sure that it never happened again as I assigned all IP only to anything I use in my house.
