google iksprivateserver.com and do some reading in the private server sections ..as there are multiple choices on IKS servers.. but do some research on it ..

Does the RQSSSP Program require the receiver to be constantly connected via serial cable to the computer?

- a private server
- the RQ-SSSP program
- a computer that will be constantly connected to both the Coolsat and internet

Not real sure on this because I've never fooled around with the coolsat but from my research the 5000 uses a straight cable instead of a null. That could possible be the hold up on the load.

For serial cables you will find Straight Through or Null Modem Cable. They look the same but work different.

For the Coolsat Receivers you need a Straight Through Cable. It should be the same cable that came with the receiver
