You have to kind of watch what receiver you do buy for HD, the one's to research and to buy are the ones that you have to get the 8PSK modules for, because some of the HD sat channels are set for turbo 8psk, the ones that don't have a module for then are only good for QPSK, so you have to do your research. Also you should read up on what HD sat's you can get, sat 129, I know for a fact is set to turbo. Hope this helps!

Eventually the 110/119 birds will change to turbo 8PSK as well. Other than that all of the eastern arc and 129w are 8psk. Charlie has been planning this phase-out for over a year now, it was suppose to be completed but he is taking his time since older legacy IRDs won't get signal after.

Long story short, buy something that is going to work for a long time in the future. Even with how up and down this hobby gets at times.

The new rumor I have read, about charlie phasing out sd has now been changed, it was posted on another site, from a guy who knows another guy that, I guess does setups for DN ( Installer) said they will not be changing over anytime soon, because most of their subscribers, only have the sd recievers.
