move the sats, no, change the foot print of the sat, yes they could do that, as b3v has done that.
we cant get b3v here in the us and dn could do the same thing, then you could not get dn north of the border.

Thought BEV did that when they launched new sats?

they can change the foot print at any time on any sat.

Then why dont they eliminate service to areas they aren't allowed to sell in??? This makes no sense if it were easy they'd do it

because there are more dn sub recivers north of the border than you mite think, they buy the subs in the U.S. then take them home,
and dn knows this, its all about the $,lol.

Not on the older sat's, only on the newer ones with phased array antennas.

The older ones have skirts and tubes to get the footprint needed, that is why Bell replaced 82 and 91 with new birds, the older ones couldn't tighten the footprint like they wanted to.

You could tilt the satellite a bit, but Dish has to cover Alaska Hawaii and Puerto Rico, tilting the satellite would affect the footprint for these areas.

you cant get 118w 61.5w & 72.7w on one provider dish, you would need two dishes to do that.
i would think what they have is a turbo hd dish for 61.5w, 72.7w & 77.0w but thats just me thinking, lol.

Sure you can. It,s called a motor and where I am you go from 61.5 to 148 using a provider dish but a larger dish is better.

What's a "turbo hd dish"? HD channels can be received just fine on an old 18" Dave pan. Don't ask me how I know. ;)

Thank God, I've finally got a model to associate with the Freebie I was given. I'm still connecting through some old stuff that I have never been able to sucessfully identify. Any pic's of these dishes would certainly be Greatly appreciated. I am by no means a newbie, however, I only learn what my friends from here provide me. Thank you all for all of your help & guidence. kimd
