Hello gang, as you all know a friend of mine bought this motorize OTA antenna (model# ANT-850R) gave it to me for assembling it and get to know all the Ups and Downs and how to control the motor, so yesterday I assembled the antenna completely read all the instructions but encounter a problem and don't know how to combine this antenna with the diplexers I have installed, I have 2 Sats connected to a Chieta 4x1 Diseq switch, the cable between the chieta and the FTA Receiver goes to SAT side of the diplexer the UHF/VHF side of the diplexer to the OTA 4 element antenna, a single coax cable from the diplexers to the inside of the house, at the end of this Coax cable is the 2nd and last diplexer, SAT side to the SkyBox S12 and the UHF/VHF side to the Digital Stream HD converter, now if I installed this motorize OTA antenna replacing the 4 element OTA will it work, the motor will rotate the OTA antenna without conflicting with the FTA receiver? Or in order for this to work properly do I need a single coax cable without diplexers for this? In other words, the motorize Antenna has to be a separate installation from the FTA receiver? 2 coax cable going inside the house................Thanks in advance TURBO

OK lets forget the diplexers, someone told me it can't be done, a single installation not involving any satellite FTA wiring, do I have to run 2 coaxial cables to this Miyako Antenna? 1 for reception and 1 for rotor control? Thanks in advance TURBO

Ignoring the fact that those antennas don't perform very well, due to the voltage used to drive the motor you can't use it with diplexers or combine it with any other system. Most diplexers have a DC block on the OTA side anyways...

That antenna will work fine with a single coax.

Hello Satchick sis, now I am confused because I don't know where this cables go, Antenna has 1 white coaxial cable about 20 feet of it and the antenna power supply has 1 black coaxial cable and 2 coaxial connectors 1 says Antenna the other one say TV, the instructions manual doesn't help at all, thanks in advance TURBO

The white coax from the antenna goes to the one marked antenna on the power supply, the othe one that says TV goes to your TV set's RF or ANT input.

Can you take a photo of the power inserter? That would help.

Can you get a good close up of the back?

I have never seen one with its own coax sticking out, it could be for the TV, and the other one for another TV set further away, can't tell....

Well try the coax to your TV's ANT input.

Then the white coax from the antenna, to the antenna input on the control box.

Do you have a make and model number for the control box? Or the antenna?

The instructions mention something below the rotor at the base to remove weather proof cover and to strip the coaxial cable and using bolts inside make connections with the cable's core let me try to photograph the instructions paper............

Never mind, I found it.

But no online PDF for the users manual.

That looks to be already done, that is what the coax sticking out the bottom is.

I wish I had a PDF of the manual.

I'll try to do a PDF, the cover with a single bolt mention in the manual is there and no cable is coming out, the white cable comes out above the cover, at the lower end of the rotor

I think now you can see the manual but not in PDF, as a photo, tried to do PDF first didn't work, second time I think I was doing OK when got message to pay to finish the PDF...............

Here is where the white cable comes from, the antenna is upside down on table

OK, what I get out of that is to connect the white coax from the antenna to the antenna in on the box, then use the other "F" connector to connect to the TV set's RF input....

The other connection at the antenna is to connect the coax from the box, you can use a longer coax if needed.

OK, let me see if I understood correctly, white cable from OTA to the Box antenna F connector, from the second F connector at the box a cable to TV input RF, then the black cable sticking out of the box is the one that will "pull" the signal to the DTV converter?
I can try before connecting anything, with an analog Volt and AMP's tester and see wish of all 3 outputs from the box is the one with voltage to move rotor...........Do you think is a good idea?

OK gang went to a store a little far from home, but I know they sell this miyako and other antennas that look almost the same, found out how it is installed, white coaxial from antenna to the power box, from power box black coaxial to TV or DTV converter, the other F connector is for a second TV set, not specified in the instructions, but sales guy told me he was confused also when those antennas first arrive, also told me about using spliters for more TV sets then 2. Now out of topic but I almost stop breathing when the sales guy told me the price of any of the 4 models they have, (by the way the power box is the same in all 4 of them, is the style of the antenna what changes) 53.50 with Tax, my friend bought the one I am supposed to be testing, in 12.00 tax included, at a store not on the internet.
When I get home this evening will do the installation of a cable just for the converter box and will report back my findings, thanks TURBO
