the jynx will overheat if you dont use a power inserter to help power the lnb, other than that no heat problem with heat.

I am running 4 lnbs and no power inserter. Why do I not have a heat issue?:noidea:
You might want to specify the type of set up and lnb that requires a power inserter in the first place. JMO

i was talking about the dpp lnb and they are power hogs and if you have a long run of cable the jynx will overheat and the ch will
freeze and it want scan all the ch, it is best to have a power inserter, without it you can kill the jynx box.

I am on my second Jynxbox, my first got hot and after about a month went dead. When I got my second, I put a small fan inside and have not had any problems as of yet. Been about two months now. I have only had to cycle the power once, before I had to cycle at least once a day.

what lnb do you have, if it is a dpp, the jynx dont have enought power for the dpp and you need a power inserter, or you will blow
the tunner or the power supply.
BTW, you can use an old DN reciver on port 1 to help power the lnb, that works too.

I have mine for a few days with jb200, I'm using 110,119-118,129 dp lnbs so far everything is running cool without a cooler or additional external power.

my jynxbox started behaving funny skipping through channels by itself nothing wrong with the remote turning the volume up and down this went on for about two weeks downgraded the software then upgraded same problem realizing that when it gets hot thats it behaved i cut hole in the top added a pc fan problem solved great machine but it needs ventilation to function properly .

all electronics need proper air flow to function properly, A shelf in an entertainment center is not the ideal spot for things really. Other things that can cause issues is components stacked on each other and over drawing the power supply with dishpro LNBs. Compared to other HD boxes the JB100 / 200 modules run relatively cool when matched up against LS400/500

neither do I man, receivers, tv, computer all on 24/7. I bet sometimes my computer is running over 3 weeks and only gets rebooted when antivirus requests it :)
