Has anyone tested to see if the jynix hd ultra will work with for true fta? I am especially interested in the cband side. I remember reading the adervertisement when the receiver was first released that it was capable of working on any type of signal.

It has blind scan option so I don't see why not other than the motor settings don't work properly which they need to address.
I may be wrong here but maybe someone like Costactc could chime in here.

Most of these receivers are not very functional when it comes to true fta but should work. Motor settings for c band would not be an issue because you would need an outside source for moving your dish like a stand alone positioner with an actuator. You do realise that a dish of the bare minimum of 6' will be required but I would suggest 10' for all those tough s2/8psk channels on c band.
I would suggest a skybox f3 receiver for true fta and its price is quite minimal:

I do have the openbox s9 which works great on true fta. I do have a 8foot bud with cband 5150 lnb, and vbox diqec motor. I tried scanning in a couple of the more popular cband birds with the jynx all I get is skip. I do turn the motor off during the scan is in process. This is just testing to me I like to learn what each fta receivers are capable of. Thank you guys
