ok, so if there is any expert out there that would like a real head scratcher, this ones for you. So first off, I'll tell you that I have read and followed the posted instructions for the jtagging. And tried the erase 3 times, and tried the power on/off then erase, repeat X2, etc, etc. I've been trying to get this recovered for a LONG time now...
I just can't get it to ever say "chip erased" so I can move on and recover this box. So hopefully someone has a great new idea or its going in the trash as I can't seem to even find anyone locally that will take a stab at it. I'm just a sucker for punishment that I've been trying for all these years ever since I loaded a DA file into it,, haven't recovered it since.

The problem is that it erases up to 1FDF0000 and just sits there. The blue light on the front stays on throughout the complete erase until it gets to that last block then goes out.
Its a LSISC2005 chip which matches the def file for the AMT program. Open to new ideas

Have you tried just doing a write in file dependant mode?
You are close its very tricky its a matter timing and the clicking
of the switch on the back of the unit and executing the erase
or write. My first time jtagging a nova took me a week to get it
going i did several others some worked right away some took
awhile.I did add an extra ground wire to the jtagg and clipped
it to the frame of the box which helps but its i think more in the timing
of the switch and executing the erase and write.

yappapi "jtag couldn't read or find chip" thats your jtag its not
communicating with your pc this could be several things miswired
jtag bad ground are what i would check but no lites may be a burnt
cap or something are you getting power to the unit?

thanks hwm. I don't remember exactly what I tried to be honest. Do you mean trying to load the bin file even though the erase didn't say complete?

2 things..
where is that big azz burger and are you still boycotting pepsi and coke?
is RC cola ok? lol
and...
welcome back!

my jtagging experience was..on bad box it would never find the chip set.
on the good box it found chip set but wouldn't compete process..this is after a failed clone try.
i added a ground when trying each box and on the old site had a few pages and a lot of help from various members but no luck so i let the thread die.

thanks hwm. I don't remember exactly what I tried to be honest. Do you mean trying to load the BOOT file even though the erase didn't say complete?

Yeah try it, it did work for me without a complete erase.
It is tricky to jtag i had to try several times and spent few days
on one that i did. Its a matter of timing when you hit
the write button on the amt program and the switch on the'
back of the unit.Once you get it you`ll say to yourself "but i
did that already many times"!!!

NOI is always the same.. only thing that changes and makes people THINK NOI is messing up is..
flaky server-internet problems-networking problems-ECM(server acting flaky after the fact).
NOI never changes..just everything that makes it possible changes...silly "bad NOI" threads.
and yes you must run a P/C for NOI to work...people complain but i bet..i just bet some of those same people that complain has a P/C on anyways..lol
and for the record with NOI...a 3 day perfect guide is right there.
again this is JMO from long reads and interweb searches :)
