i was wondering if viewsat iks is still well supported ? want to get into iks but dont know which recievers in general are decent and which ones to stay away from! i have experience with viewsat from the stand alone days but not much with iks. tried xfactor reciever with dongle and it was a massive flop so i want familiarity.i am looking for public server support and realitive ease of set up. which viewsat is the best and which ones are still running? thanks for the info its hard to decipher info when your not 100 percent confident on what to buy and what is needed to get tv started.

You could check the file section for your receiver and see if there is a file that will get you up through your computer.
Public almost non existent.
My choice for simplicity would be limesat, dream link, then jynxbox.(200 bucks)
Once you purchase a box, you'll need a dish aiming at 110 119 and or 91(75 bucks) to get you going.
You'll need an internet connection and cabling from router to receiver or wireless adapters(40 bucks)
And you need to sign on with a p$ to get some codes to allow you to view channels. Pricing varies but relatively cheap.
All prices are rough to give yu an idea what you'll have to spend. If you aren't up to installation of these items then you may have to pay someone to do it for you.
Anyhow hope this helps a little. Ask in this thread if you have more questions and good luck

thanks for the info i apreciate it! is there a reason that viewsat wasnt mentioned?friend what brand of viewsat receiver do you have, only the viewsat ultra and ultra lite and viewsat 9000 hd and viewsat max can be used with the wfemu for windows program or you can purchase a xfta-router to connect to the internet and you also will need to buy a code from a private server in order to view tv,and you have to have internet connection 24/7 while watching tv,good luck friend....

You can also add the recently released BIN for Viewsat Extreme.

frankly i don't know how you locked up the platinum. that's kinda hard to do. maybe all you have to do is load a cleaner, or factory file and factory default the receiver. and it should be back to new. all you have to do is try. just fyi
