The news of Cody Rhodes' involvement in this Sunday's Survivor Series pay-per-view is still unclear.
Having been diagnosed with a concussion and a strained shoulder by the WWE's prime physician, Dr. Sampson (via WWE.com), it is still possible that Rhodes—a second-generation WWE Superstar—could be medically cleared but highly unlikely.
In an article published today, Jake Grate from WWE.com lists a number of potential replacements for Rhodes, begging the question "If Cody Rhodes is unable to compete at Survivor Series, which Superstar could join Team Ziggler?"
In his list, Grate mentions WWE Supertars Ricardo Rodriguez, David Otunga, Tensai, Michael McGillicutty and Matt Striker as possible replacements for Rhodes this Sunday.
Though stemming from the WWE's official website, it is unclear as to whether or not the WWE Superstars listed by Grate are actually on the WWE's radar to replace Rhodes or is simple speculation.
Of those listed by Grate, Ricardo Rodriguez makes perfect sense because of his involvement with Alberto Del Rio—another member of Team Ziggler.
As of late, Rodriguez has been given more opportunities to wrestle on WWE television. Perhaps Rhodes' injury will provide the personal ring announcer with an opportunity to work full time as a wrestler.
