Hey guys. I currently have a dual circular lnb for my 118 119 setup. I was looking to put a quad lnb in there so nice could get international on a couple more receivers. From what I remember back in the day. Quad lnb would cause a lot of issues when more than two receivers were on using the same signal, is that still the case now or does it matter anymore? Also what lnb brand would you recommend for a quad circular. I heard about gtsat and invacom or something like that. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

I dont see any issues with using a quad lnb for 118/119. If using a switch to add another satellite signal ( say 110 or 129) use a good quality switch (chieta or EMP)and you shouldn't have freezing problems. Not sure which manufacturer makes quad lnbs for 118/119. Gtsat lnbs are good...if you can get a quad for 119/118.
You can still use the one you've got with a 4x4 multiswitch or a 4x1 multiswitch. It all depends on your setup and how many other lnbs you've got in play.

You have to be carful on the types of LNB's used, some don't play nice with others, you cant mix DPP LNB's with standard or legacy, all LNB's should be of the same type and manufacture, this will cause less problems with switching.
And if your going to run multiple receivers with multiple LNB's you have to use an externaly powered switch, or you will run into DC current problems, that will cause switching problems.
Also DPP LNB's will only work good with DPP switches, and DPP switches only like to work with DPP LNB's.
Some 4x4 switches are for standard or legacy LNB's.
So if would help us a bit if you tell us what brand/type of LNB's and switches you have now.
And they don't make a quad LNB for 118/119, they did make a quad for 110/119 (dish) but they are old technology and are hard to find.
You can get quad LNB's (and they even make octal LNB's) but they are for a single satellite only, and mostly linear, but a few can be found for circular on some European sat web sites.

So right now I have a 33 inch setup for 110/119 in two rooms. Using a dual lnb for that. Right under that dish is have an 18 inch setup for 110/119 going to two different rooms. My goal is if I get a quad lnb, I can get 118 in the rooms where I have 110/119 right now. So 2 rooms would have just 118, and 2 rooms would have 110/119 and 118. Gtsat has a quad lnb, but Is this multiplexer idea an efficient and cheaper alternative for my situation? At the end of the day still only 2 rooms would be running multiple lnbs. And the 18 inch dish is using all original bev equipment

Hiya Harisf
I believe the Gtsat is a copy of the Invacom QPH 031,,,they are Quads (2 linear and 2 circular) but will not work with 118
I know there are duals for 118,but as Terryl mentioned, would be worth checking the European sites
I would defenitely recommend you to use a minimum 33'' dish or bigger for 118
Cheers,,

I am using duals for 118 right now so clearly they are available, I just wanted quads for it. I already have the dish setup so that is not an issue for me.

You might be a bit confused on the "quad" and "dual", the quad LNB has 4 outputs, for 4 receivers, it is for 110 and 119 only.
The "dual" LNB has two outputs for two receivers, and is a single satellite LNB only, the only exception to this is the DP+ LNB that has 118 and 119 in the one LNB, they do not make a "quad" LNB for 118/119.
If you want 110/118/119 in all rooms then use a single DP LNB for 110 and a DP+ LNB for 118/119 and run them to a DPP44 switch, this will give you the 3 satellites in to 4 receiver outputs.
Less of a headache and if you want 5 or more receivers you just add a second DPP 44 switch to the first DPP 44 and your set to add 4 more receivers.
