hi don't know if i m in good forum
i need an info i have a modem cable running from my modem to my living room if i put a splitter can i connect two receivers a nanosat and a dreamling sd

In short, no.

You can't split the output from your modem, if it is a cat5 cable for data you have to use a switch.

We need a bit more info on the output your trying to split, can you post a photo of the cable?

Or does it look like this? (this is a CAT5 cable)

it is a CAT5 cable from my modem to my receiver now i want to connect 2 receiver to internet

get a switch from bestbuy, they have 5 port gigabit for around $40

A 2nd router is more expensive and confusing to set up as a bridge. Since you have a CAT5 to the area a simple switch is plug and play. They normally come with 5 or 6 CAT5 ports.

Yup, a switch is all you need.

And you will also need two coaxes from your satellite dish, one for each receiver.
