I purchased a Jynxbox Android HD a several weeks ago. I finally got this unit to work very well with XBMC. It's very similar to the Pivos with some hardware upgrades. I will post what I did to let every one know how to get the most out of it so users can benefit form the experience as much as I am.

First off here are some specs:

Hardware:

Amlogic 8726 M3 1.2GHZ Cortex A9 CPU
Mali 400mhz High Performance 3D HD GPU
Air mouse remote (motion) Included
1GB RAM (DDR3)
2GB Total Internal Nand Flash Storage
3 x USB (Flash Drives/HDD/Tuner)
1 x MicroSD Storage Extendable (Up to 32GB!)
802.11b/g/n Wifi
10/100 Ethernet port
HDMI 1.3 1080p Output
IR Sensor for remote

Software:

Android 4.04
Google Play working
XBMC pre-installed
Supports USB ATSC Tuner
Many pre-installed streaming apps like HBO GO, Netflix, etc...

When I got the unit I noticed that it had a lot of pre-loaded apps. The pre-installed version of XBMC was an older one from July. After playing with the unit and doing tons of reading about how XBMC works for Android I figured out that I should start fresh from a basic version of Android without all the apps and a newer version of XBMC.

So here is what I did to get it going and it's working extremely well.

First off the device takes an update from the internet, I assume Jynxbox has a server some where pushing updates to their devices. So I let it take the update.

Here is the file just in case anyone needs it: Jynxbox Update (http://megaload.it/6bacgzhxp23n)

Then I proceed to do a factory reset to the Jynxbox so I would start from a clean slate, these are the procedures that I noticed have increase WiFi and streaming performance:

1. Back up the apps to a microSD card if you need to (I will upload a zip file of all of them and update this post)
2. Factory reset the box in the Android settings menu
3. Re- install latest version of XBMC

The xbmc version that comes with the unit is: xbmc-073012

I'm currently using this one which has a problem connecting to network sources like Fusion and Sinful. But I had already installed and saved my sources to my microSD and they worked fine with any version of XBMC I tried including the nightlies. This is the one I'm using as a personal preference: xbmc-Jynxbox-pvr-100912.zip (http://megaload.it/96jeti00piea)

In case anything goes wrong, you can load/restore the factory image to the box:

There's a reset button on the bottom of the box.

1. Save .img file on root of microsd card and insert it
2. Unplug power
3. Hold down reset button and dont let go
4. Plug power wait for loading menu to come up

This is the FULL stock image: It contains all the pre-loaded apps and the base Android 4.04 OS: Jynxbox Factory Image (http://www.adrive.com/public/d3krCE/update.img)

I will update this post as I try new things and find new improvements.
