Came back after being away for three weeks and the box wouldnt turn on. Tried doing a hard reboot and only the blue light turns on but no display. Any idea what part is broken? Is a repair possible/worthwhile?

pop top.
look on power supply c10 location.
should be large bulged cap.
replace with u4700 16v high temp or 25v u4700.
you must remove p/s board and be able to soldier.
local electronic store will have what i said for a dollar or two.
then you be fixed.
good luck.

interweb picture added..not sure who gets credit? maybe canuck Knarf. dunt know?

In all likelihood that is the issue. The c10 is the most common one too go. I've had it happen on a couple of boxes. But since you'll have the box open you to see if any others are popped too. There are about 6 underpowered caps. Any of them could have popped.

I HATE soldering, but even I was able to replace the c10 capacitor on mine when it went out. Super Easy to do. Took about 5 minutes for me (but 2 weeks for the capacitor to arrive as no one local carried one). Make sure that you have the same uf (4700 in this case) but use a higher voltage (25 volts instead of 10). Cost was about $4. You can tell which capacitor is blown because it will be pop'ed up on top or swollen a bit. It really stands out if you compare them.

Special thanks to Canuck Knarf for coming up with this guide!

Looks like the c10 cap's top is bulged and leaking. Will have to buy a new one and should get it in by the weekend. Will let you know how it turns out. Thanks for all the help.

Picked up 2 new caps, solder, and solder wick all for about $10. Put in the new cap and all works great. Thanks to all for their help.
