Just got my new jynxbox ultra hd and this is way different then my sv360e. Im having serious issues setting this thing up. I cant seem to connect to the srever and cant scan any sats. Im sure its all on my end. I never seen half these menu settings before and was looking for a little help or tutorial please.

I have a dish 500 pro two lnbs into an sw21 switch and am pointed at 110 and 119 and everything worked 2 hrs ago when the sv360e was setup, so i know its just my settings are wrong. I have upgraded the firmware to the v217 and that took but im not sure what settings to input for satellites, or even how to cause you can just pick from a list. I copied everything from my server menu off the 360 and made sure it was right in the jynxbox but its still not working. Please help

Have you tried hard booting your receiver and letting it sit on a known working channel?

Server will not connect. I have no idea why either. dhcp on or off?

I input my local ip 192.168.2.12
subnet 255.255.255.0
gateway 192.168.2.1
user name
pass
and server port 20000
whats wrong there?

DHCP can be turned on.
Make sure you are using the right type of server, ie. newcamd and check the ip for the server and make sure you are connecting to the right port. there may also be a user/pass issue that is not letting you connect.

this box gave me major headaches, what i hear is that the PSK cards get hot, if you pop the case and let it breath and then scan it works great. this can also affect ip addressing.

its on newcamd, how do you know which is the right port? And my user/pass was working this morning on the sv360, unless activia doesnt support the jynxbox.

when using a server try using something other than the first one. i used server 8 and it worked pretty good.

the port would be provided by the server (iks) there are many different ports, but you are assigned to one depending on your deskey

like i said this is all copied straight from the menu on the sonicview, I tried various combinations of ip adresses and servers. That port 20000 was provided, and i know i have my pass and name correct. What else can i check? I tried 2, 3, and 8 to enter this info into and nothing. All channels are up and the epg populates , i just cant get this to connect to activia

Here's where you screwed up...

You don't input anything in the network menu... You set it to dhcp and leave it.... and DO NOT hit the apply button

do a factory reset to shake that static IP loose..

You will not get connect to your lan until you do a factory reset...

Maybe adding a fan can do the work, I believe the receiver can look like crab without the cover on.
Thanks Anubis for fixing the link

Jynxbox does not run hot. A fan is not needed.

If that members box is running hot then they have a box issue in my opinion.

Agreed Anubis. Mines warm but nothing like needing a fan kinda warm.

Could be a bad cable/wire/connector/switch. Check the RG6 line for anything.
