ok,i had to replace cooling fan, after replacing it,turn on pc,no longer can i use outlook express(got it to work by resetting password)can no longer print(i have a wireless printer, tried to hook up usb cable, didn't help)found out the usb ports no longer work,no longer have sound, went to device manager(was hoping to update drivers)but manager was blank
when i replaced fan,i didn't put gloves on,might have touched mother board, question is,can this be fixed,or should i just buy another pc,this 1 was built by a friend about 10 yrs ago(haven't seen him in 6-7 yrs now)
tried to use restore, but the earliest date was when i turned on pc after replacing fan

any info would be appreciated bjim

If the fan was for the CPU you may have fried it, and gloves wont stop a static discharge from happening, only a wrist strap will. <br />

It you zapped something on the motherboard with a static...
